Organizations in the independent culture scene in general do not have systematized and functional archives and their work is usually left to the oral history. The vast majority of the material remains inaccessible and difficult verifiable information.
The workshops are part of the archiving project ABCeda of independent culture, which implement cooperative associations SEEcult.org from Belgrade, Kurziv-Platform for issues of culture, media and society (www.kulturpunkt.hr), and the Association for the Promotion of Culture Kulturtreger (www.booksa.hr) from Zagreb, with the financial support of the Balkan Arts & Culture Fund. The main objective is the preservation of the work of the independent cultural sector in the region, use of research, data collection and presentation of memories of actors independent culture in the form of oral history (video interviews), and materials produced their work. In addition, the project aims to raise awareness of the need to preserve organizational memory on the independent cultural scene, and a series of educational workshops, improve the capacity of organizations to archive documentation.
For organizations in Novi Sad there will be held two workshops of archiving, from 15 to 18 December 2014, each lasting two days (the first 15-16. December and other 17-18. December), from 10 - 14pm. At the workshops will be among the topics addressed samodokumentovanja organizations and presenting non-institutional scene, introduce them to the model of the Centre for documenting independent culture, and they present the basic tools for archiving. This will transfer part of knowledge about sustainable model of documentation.
Workshops will be led by Miljenka Buljević and Dunja Kučinac from the Center for documenting independent culture in Zagreb.
