In 2011 we decided to make a series of documentaries entitled "Portraits of streets in Novi Sad". The idea of this project is that in an interesting way educate the population, primarily young people up to 19 years on important political and cultural-historical facts that are related to Novi Sad and thereby contribute to the development of tolerance and the correct opinions about life in a multicultural environment, with emphasis on the cultural heritage of the city.
It must have happened many times to walk down the street, and the name of the street, as we like to say, looked familiar, but you still do not know who was the person who deserves to obtain the name of the street after him or her. It is precisely through these programs we would like to point out a famous person and discover who he/she really was and why is important for the near or distant past from this area. The streets of Novi Sad bear the names of famous people of different nationalities (in Novi Sad, there are over 20 different nationalities), and this points to the richness of different cultures that coexist in our city and educative influence on the level of general awareness of citizens. The desire of the project is to teach people that there are multicultural differences that need to be respected and that those differences are the wealth of a country.
