The topic of the second episode of the Night Butterflies podcast is human rights. We talked about this topic with Jelena Božić, journalist, youth worker, activist.
In Serbia, basic human rights are violated every day, the most violated are the right to health, public gatherings, a healthy environment, work and social protection. Human rights experts and activists claim that all rights are difficult to enjoy. There are many reasons for this, we discuss some of them in this episode. On the one hand, citizens' lack of information, and personal lack of insistence on respecting those basic rights. On the other hand, the tyranny of the state, which, by keeping the people in a state of fear, creates an image of society that is far from orderly. How influential is the media and how important is ethical reporting? Do you believe in the power of citizens? in the power of the individual? Do you know what your rights are? Are you teaching children to be ruthless in upholding their rights? Check out the podcast and share your thoughts with us.
