Episode #5 of the Night Butterflies podcast is dedicated to education and the education system due to all the events in our country. Our guest was Milica Sekulić aka Micka Lifa, who is an educator, artist and rapper. Milica works as a professor of art and graphic design at the "Mihajlo Pupin" High School of Electrical Engineering in Novi Sad.
Although this school has a bit of a bad reputation as a predominantly male school, she states that there is no violence and that the students get along even though they come from different social backgrounds. We talked about the system and the changes that are needed, but despite all the challenges and backward systems, Milica strongly remains positive and optimistic, and never ceases to emphasize how open, creative and ready to learn young people are when they feel that someone respects them and cares for their development as it is the case with her.
It is certainly necessary for the educational system to progress even more and adapt to today's times and the needs of students, but perhaps even more we need the people who work in it to be creative and passionate about imparting knowledge, to be good pedagogues and to have a positive outlook on the world. Find out what is taboo for Micka in the episode.
