Association Kulturanova started working on a new project supported by the Creative Europe program - WBYO Accelerando.
The mission of WBYO Accelerando is to make the Western Balkan Youth Orchestra (WBYO) a permanent body for teaching young musicians from the Western Balkans at a professional level and fostering ongoing cross-border and inter-ethnic cooperation. WBYO, launched in 2019, is a transnational platform for young professional musicians from six non-EU Western Balkan countries (WB6). Its purpose is to build musical capacity, audience development and reconciliation in the Western Balkans region. Due to Covid, the orchestra was only able to have its initial phase of work in October 2021. and the first limited concert tour - which was a great success.
During the 4 years of the project, 8 residencies will be held in different locations of WB6 and the EU, with master classes and intensive training for the orchestra under the guidance of eminent lecturers from the EU, each time being followed by a concert tour, which will bring a total of 37 concerts in the countries WB6, plus some in the EU. To facilitate this process, lead partner THINKYOUNG (administrative) and Artium Eudora (artistic) will collaborate with 7 music associations and festival organizers in WB6 and EU. The entire project will be accompanied by a training process for young cultural journalists, offered by the German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle - a key measure to stimulate interest in such cultural offerings and develop audiences.
Partners in the project: Atrium Eudora (Kosovo - UN resolution), Association for nurturing and promotion of musical, fine and performing arts "Artissimo" (Bosnia and Herzegovina), DON BRANKO SBUTEGA FOUNDATION (Montenegro), Kulturno Umetničko Združenie Alegretto S.Mala Rečica Tetovo (Northern Macedonia), Kulturanova Association (Serbia), Belgrade Art New Territory - BUNT (Serbia), Ostbayerisches Jugendsinfonieorchester eV (Germany), Deutsche Welle (Germany), International Society for Arts, Education and Cultural Exchange eV (Germany).
