How much freedom do we have? What and who are we afraid of? What does the law say? What is our power, and who has power over us? Why don't we have basic human rights? Young people used their bodies, acting, movements, music, improvisation and exercise to talk about important things.
Through work at drama workshops, our theater team (Jelena and Attila) together with the participants (LGBTQ+ youth) searched for causes, problems and solutions to the mentioned questions, responding to them creatively and critically. On Monday, May 8, a performance was held in the OPENS building, representing the result of their five-day work.
Through the A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. project, we are not only talking about the issues of the LGBTQ+ community, but in general about the position of marginalized groups in Serbia whose existence the system denies. Through this performance, young people showed what freedom, anger, love, human rights, power, fear are, selflessly sharing their emotions, attitudes and values.
The program was implemented in cooperation with the Youth Association of the association "OPENS" through the program "Youth in the Center of a Sustainable Community", which is financed from the budget of the City of Novi Sad, City Administration for Sports and Youth - Youth Office.
A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. workshops are part of an international project of the same name supported through the ERASMUS+ program of the European Commission.
